Ven. Hyewon(慧謜) got her doctorate from Dongguk University ("Research on Chinese Northern School of Chan"北宗禪硏究). She has published three books, including A Dictionary of Seon Terminology (禪語事典), and translated works such as How to Read Recorded Seon Sayings. She was the dean of the College of Buddhist Studies, and has served as the director of the Korean Buddhist Research Institute.
